Tine Embrechts is almost fifty years old and is approaching menopause. A door that she does not want to open right away, but that almost every woman has to go through sooner or later. In Menopauzia, a three-part series that will be shown on VRT 1 this autumn, Tine prepares for menopause, with a lot of humor and occasionally some self-mockery.
Freek Braeckman and Julie Van den Steen take you on a trip to discover the difference between what you do, what you think you do and what you say you do. Because everything we do is often more predictable than we realise, and not that wise.
Let's be honest: where people live together, annoyances arise. Whether it concerns pruning hedges, noise pollution from crowing roosters or discussions about plot boundaries. Britt Van Marsenille and Deputy Justice of the Peace Dieter Vanoutrive want to tackle these annoyances in the new Can we agree? They encourage people to talk to each other before going to court. Because the peace courts are overcrowded, the waiting lists are long and proceedings can become expensive. With more than twenty years of experience as a deputy justice of the peace, Dieter Vanoutrive also noted that many people have never spoken to each other before turning to a justice of the peace.
In Wildlife, Dieter Coppens goes on a foreign adventure with eight young adults with psychological vulnerability. In Thailand they work together as volunteers in a reserve where wild animals in need are cared for. Because working with animals can have a positive impact on your mental well-being. By sharing their own stories, the young people hope to be a support for each other. That is exactly what Dieter and psychologist Dominique, who is supervising the project, hope for.
Straight through Belgium is a 4-part adventurous television show, created by television-creator Arnout Hauben. Together with Philippe Niclaes (camera) and Ruben Callens (drone and sound) Hauben follows the GR129, the longest signposted hiking-trail in Belgium. The trail is 500 kilometers long and goes all the way through Belgium from Bruges to Aarlen. Arnout, Philippe and Ruben go "back to basics" for this show and travel with backpack and tents. They complete the trail in 23 days, travelling about 20 km per day.
Along the way, Arnout Hauben stops at several special locations with each its own story. He tells stories about Belgian history, but also about lesser-known "petites histoires".
After twelve years of absence, Man Bites Dog returns. A new generation of television makers and screen faces is ready for a voyage of discovery through the fascinating world of the Flemish in a new season. They zoom in on current events and the unusual aspects of our daily lives, with a laugh, a tear and a touch of poetry. Man Bites Dog is happily wagging its tail again with brand new sections and - occasionally - an old section as the icing on the cake.
