Emerald on the Roof is a Chinese and Taiwanese romance television series starring Wallace Huo, Sun Li, Yvonne Yao, George Hu and Jia Nai Liang. This thirty episode romantic series is followed closely to the classical Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet and features places such as the Hainan Island & Shanghai in China and London & Scotland in the United Kingdom.

Based on the American radio and television series of the same name, it aired on GTV-9 from March 1957 to October that same year. It was a televised simulcast of a Macquarie Radio Network series, reflecting how new television was to Australia. It was sponsored by Rinso laundry detergent, and hosted by Terry Dear.

The hour-long series was replaced by two local productions, game show The Dulux Show at 8:00PM, with discussion series Leave It to the Girls at 8:30PM.
