It is set to end due to several reasons: Manny Pacquiao is busy with his new game show, Manny Many Prizes and is also mostly unavailable for this sitcom's taping days and Marian is also busy with taping Amaya, but still a sitcom will replace this one with Marian Rivera also as the lead role.
Are You The Next Big Star? is a reality music competition to find two new solo musical talents, created and developed by GMA New Media, Inc.. It debuted on May 16, 2009 on GMA Network, and is hosted by Regine Velasquez, with comedian-singer Keempee de Leon as the co-host.
The program seeks to discover the best singer in the country through a series of nation-wide auditions. The public decides the outcomes of the later stages through text voting. The judges who give critiques of the contestants' performances have included Pops Fernandez, Randy Santiago, Danny Tan, Mon Faustino and Annie Quintos.
The prizes at stake includes one million pesos, a condominium unit from Avida, a management contract from GMA Artist Center and a recording contract from GMA Records. There will be two winners in the show: one male and one female.

It replaced the previous talk show, Partners with Mel Tiangco, where Mel Tiangco hosted when Jay Sonza ran for election to the Senate of the Philippines under the party, Aksyon Demokratiko, and moved to UNTV 37 as station manager. He later moved to the radio anchor of DZIQ. On August 15, 2010, aside from birthday of Mel Tiangco, the new intro of Mel & Joey is unveiled.
To date, its last episode in the studios was on February 6, 2011. Afterwards, the show has been at a designated venue and that's where the show would take place.
