Jornal da Globo is the late night news show broadcast by the Brazilian television channel Rede Globo. It doesn't have a fixed starting time, but usually airs at or after midnight.
Hosted by William Waack and Christiane Pelajo, it shows a detailed summary of the news of the day, highlighting matters such as Brazilian and world's economics and politics.
Jornal da Globo was originally launched in 1967 as Rede Globo's first newscast, hosted by Hilton Gomes and Luiz Jatobá. Its first incarnation ended in March 1969 just months before the launch of Jornal Nacional. Jornal da Globo was relaunched for a second time in 1979 and hosted by Sérgio Chapelin, ending again in 1981 before being relaunched for a third time in its current incarnation in 1982.
Estação Globo premiered in December 2004 to celebrate Rede Globo's 40th anniversary.
The special program featured songs from the soundtracks of soap operas, performed by Globo's famous actors.
Luiz Ferré's Criadores e Criaturas' TV Colosso dog puppets also made a special appearance on this special singing "Eu Não Largo o Osso" sung by Paquitas, and written by Michael Sullivan and Paulo Massadas.
The sets were built by José Cláudio and the special was directed by Jorge Fernando.
Since then, it became a recurring show on Globo's schedule and is always hosted by popular singer Ivete Sangalo.
Saramandaia is a Brazilian telenovela originally written by Dias Gomes in 1976. It's considered remarkable because of the Magic Realism (used by the author to subtly criticize the Military Regime of the time) and had 160 chapters.
The story centers on the name change that the city undergoes, promoted by the younger citizens and reviled by the older ones. It also focuses on the lives of the city's quirky residents.
TV Xuxa was a children's program on display day-by-day from 2005 until 2007 in the same format as TV Colosso, on Globo TV. Now is Xuxa's currently a game show since 2008 in the same format as Planeta Xuxa, another game show that was a hit in the 90s.
