Casting director Jennifer Starr joined the season 1 cast along with Cory Bautista, director of New York Model Management as judges. Tyson Beckford and Niki Taylor played as both judges and the hosts of the show.
A casting special aired prior to the season opener on January 2, 2008, featuring many models being photographed, critiqued on the runway, and sent away until only the final choices for the season remained.
The winner of the competition, chosen by the viewers, would receive a fashion pictorial in GQ Magazine, $100,000, and a one-year contract with New York Model Management.
The winner of the competition was 21 year old Holly Kiser from Coeburn, Virginia.

Tabloid Wars is a reality TV series that aired in the summer of 2006 on the Bravo cable network. It followed reporters and editors from the New York Daily News.
Featured writers and editors included Michael Cooke, Lenore Skenazy, Dean Chang, Tracy Connor, Tony Sclafani, Joanna Molloy, Kerry Burke and Hudson "Hud" Morgan. Despite good reviews from critics and journalists, the show was not renewed for a second season.
Queer Eye for the Straight Girl is a spin-off of the television show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Straight Girl aired from January to May 2005. As the name suggests, the program focuses on makeovers for women while following the format of the original show. As opposed to the original show, which is mostly set in New York City, Queer Eye for the Straight Girl is set in Los Angeles. The hosts are called "The Gal Pals" and include three gay men and a lesbian. The show was unsuccessful and ended after the first season.

Gay Weddings is a 2002 American reality television series that aired on Bravo. The series, created by openly gay producers Kirk Marcolina and Douglas Ross, followed two lesbian and two gay couples as they prepared for their wedding ceremonies. Each episode combined interview footage of the individual couples and their families and friends with footage of the various couples going through their wedding planning activities along with video diaries from the couples themselves.
Hosted by Max Silvestri, the cooking competition series features four chefs in each episode who compete with each other and get eliminated in head-to-head rounds. The chefs will be judged for creating various dishes containing one specific ingredient.
